InterVene

"On behalf of our entire company, Fletcher and I wanted thank Mr. DeHaan personally for his support for the Shark Tank Competition and the innovation it recognizes, and we’ll reflect on this often as one of the high-points in the life of InterVene."

Posted October 10, 2019 – This September, the Jon DeHaan Foundation was proud to again partner with the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF) to support TCT Shark Tank. This annual competition supports Cardiovascular Innovation by allowing early stage companies to present to a panel of ‘Sharks,’ medical professionals and industry experts. This year, ten companies at different stages of early development were given 10 minutes to present followed by 10 minutes of Q&A from the panel.

Dr. Juan Granada, president and CEO of CRF, said he was “so impressed with the quality of the companies this year.” Out of the ten companies, three were announced for the short list at the end of the TCT Shark Tank. InterVene was announced as the winner at short dedicated ceremony on Friday, September 27.

InterVene’s BlueLeaf System addresses Deep Vein Reflux and Chronic Venous Insufficiency. According to their website, “InterVene's BlueLeaf® Endovenous Valve Formation System is based on an open-surgical predicate (the Maleti Neovalve1), in which “autogenous” valves are also derived from the patient’s own vein wall. Intervene’s percutaneous approach avoids the trauma of open surgery, allows for multiple valves to be formed in a single procedure, and automates certain aspects of the technically-difficult open surgerical procedure. The goal of this technology is to enable a larger number of doctors to treat their DVR patients who are in desperate need of a better solution.”

Dr. Granada, together with Dr. Robert Schwartz, Chairman of the Jon DeHaan Foundation Board, presented Fletcher Wilson, Founder and CEO of Intervene, with $200 000 at the TCT Award Ceremony. The Jon DeHaan Foundation is very impressed with both the innovation presented by company and their drive to directly improve the lives of their patients.
